Leaving Late, But Unbowed

The goal was originally to be on the road at 6 a.m. ahead of Atlanta traffic. Rudi changed that last night to between 9 and 10 a.m., AFTER Atlanta rush hour. It’s now 11:30 a.m., the tires are aired up, the bike is loaded, a test ride revealed it needed one more crank of pre-load on the rear shock (stiffens it up a bit to handle the extra weight) and Rudi is downing a half sandwich prepared by his saint of a wife, Celeste.

If you want to follow his every road move go to this site and you will see tracks made every 10 minutes or so..

Don’t expect too many tracks today as Rudi is paying the price for too much fun on a 230 cc dirt bike last Saturday at an all day dirt riding class north of Atlanta. Lots of fun, lots to learn and practice, and lots of close visits with Mother Earth and Father gravel in 90 degree heat made for an exhausting day. Rudi doesn’t recover quite as fast as he used to.

The adventure is about to begin.

Adios.
